About The Artist
Tuyet Linh (TL) LaFleur is a Massachusetts based abstract artist. TL is dedicated to expressing her art through color and believes painting with bright colors creates, enhances, changes, reveals and establishes the mood of her painting. Whether it’s her abstract figures or landscapes, these colorful paintings influence the soul of her art.
TL has a BA in studio art from Davidson College in North Carolina. Her career has taken her to scenic painting for theatre in NC, working as manager at a sewing factory in NYC, working in sales advertisement at the Village Voice (also in NYC), and as a glass blower running her own business in MA. Presently, she returned to her roots of Fine Arts in painting. She enjoys being a mom and pursuing her painting career in the small, quaint town of Shelburne Falls.
The goal of her art is to entice the viewer to feel happy when they view her colorful paintings. She believes in the healing power of color and that color conveys a sense of happiness. “Living without color is like living without love.”
About The Studio
In 2020 TL was able to move into a house in Colrain, MA. Needing lots more wall space to showcase her paintings, light, proximity to home, and a room to store, she decided to rent a house in the woods.
A three bedroom house fit for a queen to do her art.
Once moved in, TL decorated using mostly items she had already collected, resulting in a style she likes to call “Mid-century Mint Chic.” Her mint green drafting table she got at a local antique store fits perfectly next to her substantial wood easel she found on Craigslist for a third of the retail cost.
She is surrounded by her art in every room of the house which inspires her daily. Looking in one direction you see her alcove studio space with the moved in teal raw plywood floor, and looking at the other, you feel the cozy mid century furniture New England house with a wood pellet stove. It’s the best of both worlds.
